Body buddies, how are you going to snack healthy during the Super Bowl?
My boyfriend wants rotel dip and hot wings. I could make guacamole for myself with pita chips or veggies, and grilled chicken dipped in buffalo sauce or just something different entirely.
What will you all be having?

Oh, here in germany we don't really watch it normally. But I love football and so we watch it with a few of my friends. Yeah, all jocks and me in the middle. I saw the the stuff they bought (rips, burgers etc.) and I shall make dessert xD. So I make cupcakes, but for me I make cucumber, kohlrabi and carrot sticks with hummus :)
Lol. Sounds fun. What are rips? And what's kohlrabi?
I didn't even think of hummus. That sounds yummy.

Argh. I ment ribs. sorry. Kohlrabi is a vegetable. It is pretty common in germany but I never saw it actually in the US. You can eat it raw or cooked. I love it both ways <3http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kohlrabi

I ate a ton of kohlrabi when I was in Germany. We get it here in Cincinnati at the farmers markets.

I'm making a whole bunch of recipes I found on WW. I'm making guacamole and homemade pita chips. Nachos with black beans. Chicken screwers with indian curry dipping sauce, and fruit and veggie tray.
that sounds yummy. I kind of experimented with some stuff tonight. my boyfriend wants rotel. and I'm not really wanting to put that crap in my body, so i made my own tex-mex. i mixed chicken breast, black beans, corn, and tomatoes and simmered it. sooo yummy.
it really was. forgot to say i also used onion and garlic and a little jalepeno. i tried it over shredded lettuce and just by itself. so tasty.
I have no idea. All I know is that it's not going to be what my family's eating (a huge ol' pot of chili, wings, nachos, about a million different dips, and sweets galore).
I'll probably make spaghetti (whole wheat) and meatballs (turkey) with muir glen's organic tomato sauce. Or a grilled turkey burger with baked potato fries and a tomato vinaigrette. Or a burrito (turkey meat/chicken, whole wheat tortilla, beans, cheese, etc). Something like that so I won't feel left out.
Maybe I can even buy some weight watchers/skinny cow ice cream sandwiches. :D If I make sure to get in a good Sunday workout, I'll definitely have one. *promises self*
that all sounds good. all we ever eat is ground turkey instead of ground beef. we made the switch about a month or 2 ago and haven't been able to tell the difference. granted i haven't made burgers or salisbury steak with them yet, or meatballs...but i never make meatballs anyway.
What I love to eat as a snack is sliced up pears and Apples with little slices of white cheese on top of them, or dip them in almond butter. Fruit slices with greek yogurt to dip them in is also good. Broccoli and carrots with hummus dip, or whole grain flax seed crackers to dip in hummus as well.
For dessert, you can make little greek yogurt pies... in a small bowl, put granola on the bottom, top with greek yogurt or custard yogurt, add blueberries and strawberries, and top with a little bit of whipped cream, it's delicious.
that sounds good. but i've never had almond butter. the greek yogurt pies sound really good.
